Bedroom Redo

As I was laying on the couch sick for the Christmas break, I had a lot of time to make a to do list for myself of household things that I would like to get accomplished this year.  I have been excited that Bobby left all of our Christmas decorations alone this year and have decided that I can actually decorate our house again.  For the past many years, we have had pretty bare walls and very little decor going on in the house.  It has just been easier not to have things around that Bobby can break rather than being mad at him for breaking said things.

First up, Bobby's room.  If I had realized what weather issues that we were going to have this week, mainly 3 days off of school for snow days, I would have waited a little while longer.  However, when he went back to school on Monday, I got to work painting his room.  I still had some more to do when he got home from school and he was a little excited that everything was moved to the middle of the room, so he snuggled in bed and watched me paint.  The paint color is a grey/blue.

Then.....no school Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.  I had ordered some train wall decals with some Christmas money that Bobby received (thanks Uncle Sam and Aunt Shelia!!).  I also printed off some of the pictures that we took last September when we took Bobby for a real train ride.

Fortunately, after a 2 hour delay this morning Bobby got on the bus and was off to school!!  Whoo Hoo!!!  The wall decals arrived in the mail and I framed the pictures, time for the fun part....putting the things on the walls.

This train wall decal was the jumping off point and it is above his bed.
The new bedding hasn't arrived yet.
Because of his love of road signs and his love of trains, there HAD to be some train themed road signs involved!!
Bobby arranged his other road signs on his shelf to go with the new wall decal.
Grandma Carolyn got this next road sign for Bobby for Halloween.
The framed pictures from our train trip finish out the decor.

I haven't yet found curtains that I like.  Grandma and I may have to go to the fabric store and pick out something for some super awesome Grandma Carolyn designed curtains!!

Now.....on to the next room.  After I found out that there is no school on Monday....such a bummer....the next room will have to wait a few more days.
