After School Fun

Bobby, I am so sorry that you mom is such a picture junky.  Thanks for letting me take your picture over and over and over and over....

I got my camera out yesterday after school.  Bobby got in his new sandbox and played on his playground.  He actually climbed on his dome!  Had to wear pants, summer left and the 50 degree temps were back, he still preferred to take his shoes off.  Oh well.

Winter Is Finally Over...

however, I'm not sure that it really ever began.  If you need a snow shovel or a sled, now is the time.  The stores have plenty and they are clearanced to get them out of the door.

The past few days have been very busy.  Bob spent all weekend at Grandma Carolyn's house digging a big hole in the basement to put in a sump pump.  Bobby and I went on Saturday to spend the day, but Bobby was not happy.  He wanted to be outside, not spend the day inside at Grandma's.  Bobby and I skipped the work party on Sunday and stayed home and played outside all day long.  The book fair is this week at school and it is the one event that I volunteer my time.  I drop Bobby off at the back door at school and drive around to the front, go in, work in the library all day, get Bobby from his classroom, go home and go outside for the rest of the day.  I am not prepared to be outside all evening until dark, we usually don't do this until summer, not end of winter/beginning of spring.

The temperature on my car thermometer was 83 degrees when we left school today.  Bobby has been non-stop saying "swimming" over and over and over.  He just doesn't understand that even though it is in the 80s, it is not time to open the swimming pool.  So, I made an executive decision, and stopped to buy an inflatable pool to use for now.  Talk about a happy kid!!!!
He circled the pool a few times before he finally decided to get in.
Once he got in, he sat down and stayed for about 45 minutes before he got out.  Cold water has met it's match with Bobby Smith!!
The little bitty pool in front of the big, "fun" pool!

Bobby spent a lot of time pouring water over his head, great practice for hair washing.
I'm a happy boy!!
He went inside and ate some dinner, then back into the pool for another 40 minutes.  If the weather forecast holds true, looks like the pool will get much more use this week.  Two more days of book fair duty then home to swim.  Whoo Hoo!!!

I took pictures of our trees blooming while Bobby swam.  Since it is the first day of spring, I have to share at least one...
Happy First Day of Spring!

Bobby's Day Off

The Mon County school calendar has multiple out of school days added in during March and April this year.  These days off were to be taken away to make-up all of the snow days.  Who knew that we were going to have the warmest winter ever and that record high temps were going to be broken.  So guess what kids, you get a whole bunch of three day weekends in the next couple of months.  No big deal since I don't work, but sure this is causing problems for some other families.

Bobby's behavior on his day off was awesome!!!  It was as if he was thanking us for not making him go to school today.  Thank the BOE Bobby, not Mommy and Daddy (but we RELLY appreciate it).

Bobby got to work first thing in the morning...
The entire rest of the day was spent outside.  Daddy had the day off too, so Smith family fun day was on!!!
Let's get to work, we have alot to wash!!  Rhino, lawn mower, cars....
Oh heck with it, I think that I'll just wash my feet...
Now I have to wash my shoes, I can't put clean feet into dirty shoes!!
Now the water is too dirty, I have no other choice but to dump it out...
Wait, where is the water going?  I'd better follow the trail...
What is this feeling?  Mommy calls it "clean" and I don't like it!  Let me see what I can do about this...
Awwwwww!!  That's better!
Mommy keeps saying that my white shirt will never be the same.  I sure wish that Daddy would let me cut the grass...
I know that Daddy touches something down here, surely I can figure this out...
I give up!!   The rest of the day was filled with rides in the Rhino, blowing bubbles, jumping in the trampoline with the neighbor kids, playing on the swingset and just plain old outdoor fun.  If only the pool was opened............

Heat Wave

Who knew that we could have a heat wave in the winter.  We are NOT complaining!!!!  It was 75 degrees when Bobby got home from school (awesome March day!!), so we HAD to go outside to play.  It wasn't too long until Daddy got home and came outside to join the fun.  Since our carwash didn't happen the other day (after a broken windshield), Daddy got out the hose and let Bobby "wash" the car.
"Wash" the car really means, fill up the bucket, dump the bucket, fill up the bucket...until Daddy turns the water off.
While we were outside, the FedEx truck showed up and brought Bobby's new helmet.  He needed an adult small to protect his big noggin.  It fits much better, he was much more willing to leave it on.
Daddy's driving, better wear my helmet!!!
While the boys were riding in the Rhino, I was working on trimming Zoi's coat for the warm temps.  The boys came back and Zoi's boyfriend came up to play.
He has a collar on now, we believe that he belongs to someone in the trailer court at the bottom of our hill.  He still comes for a visit almost daily.

Bobby climbed in the back of the 4 Runner to hang out, well Zoi wanted in there too...

Bobby climbed over to the back seat and repeated over and over, "ride in car."  Zoi wasn't getting out, so Daddy got out the gate (we took it out when we had the winter tires on, the vibration from the tires kept knocking the gate over), and started installing with helpers in hand...
We took off on a little family drive.  When we got back a couple of the neighbor kids came up and jumped with Bobby in the trampoline...
According the the 7 day extended forcast, the temps are only gonna go up!!  One of the kids asked me, "when can we go swimming in your pool?"  Me:  "Gosh, we have a couple of months until it is swimming weather."  But, who knows!!!!!!
