Funny thing is.....I don't have anything exciting to blog about, the fun of winter in WV. So, I will revisit the snowstorm that fell upon our state while my beloved husband was away on a business trip. He left on Monday and was scheduled to come home Thursday evening. On Wednesday, March 3 the rain started and school was let out early because of flooding all over the area. Around 8 pm the rain turned to snow and when we woke on Thursday morning there was 7 inches of snow on the ground. By noon we were up to 10 inches of snow. I took Bobby and Zoi out to play, when we were finished and Bobby was taking off his snow gear, I hit the button to close the garage door and.....NOTHING. OH NO........NO POWER!!!!! Great, 10 inches of snow on the ground and no power. Life is great today!
My wonderful husband was now determined to get home to take care of us. He made it!! Drove through the snow storm to get home to us....what a man!!!! He managed to get his car up our hill in 10 inches of snow. He didn't make it to the garage, but slid the car into the area in front of our trampoline. He had to immediately get to work. First they had to plow the road so that he could get back down the hill to get to the gas station to get some fuel to get the generator running before dark.
It's amazing how happy seeing a generator can make a person during a power outage!!! Time to get those electronics charged again!!!
We had an amazing sunset on Thursday evening. Zoi was impressed too!!
We woke up Friday morning to the bluest skies that we had seen in a very long time, combined with the ultra white snow, it was truly a winter wonderland.
This bright, beautiful sun melted all of the roads that had been snow plowed well, unfortunately the main roads didn't receive this great care and the area was a snowy mess. Perfect day to go outside and play and wait for the power to be restored.
Our power finally came back on around 6 pm....whoo hoo!!! Even though the calendar says that it is Spring, we are still having Winter temps. I'm tired of the temperature records that we have been breaking lately.....like 15 degrees when we wake up in the morning. Come on 70 degree temps, we have missed you. Please come and stay!!!!! The Easter Bunny doesn't do well hoping in the snow!
