Last night I made dinner for my Aunt Mimi's birthday. Since the highlight of her year was taking a Hawaiian vacation (with my mom), I tried to give her a little, tiny taste sampling of her trip.
Mother Nature was a big old help in setting the mood for the party!! A rainy October day in WV is just like being in the tropics!! The (stink) bugs swarming around everywhere is the only thing that felt tropical here yesterday. It was the thought that counts!!
I made a Hawaiian pineapple fruit salad...
which was a big hit with the crowd!!
Somehow the toasted coconut and macadamia nut toppings missed the food paparazzi.
The menu for the birthday dinner: teriyake chicken, jasmine rice and steamed broccoli...
I even sat the table for dinner!! Yeah me!!
I didn't get any pictures (these are just ones that my mom sent me), I was too busy getting things ready.
Of course there was cake...
and Bobby was front and center to blow out the candles...
and a good time was had by all!!
Bobby put on his favorite coat trying to get someone to take him outside, but got distracted watching Mommy's new digital picture frame (a birthday gift to me from Ellie)...
Obviously this was before birthday cake time.
This morning before school Bobby got out his toy bins and lined them up on the counter top. When I walked into the kitchen, I was stunned how tall he was...until I came around the island...
It is not going to be long at all before Bobby is able to look out this window at this level. Heaven help me...
