Trying to look at this crazy extremely wet weather with my rose colored glasses firmly on, you know, making some lemonade out of all of the rainy lemons!!
One perk of all of this rain that feels like it is never going to end....Daddy has had to drain some water off of the pool quite a few times this summer. How is that a perk to Bobby?? He gets to play with the pool water as it is leaving the hose on its way out of the swimming pool.
I think that he likes this game!!
Don't worry, he's not drinking it...he just likes to feel it in his mouth.
Why doesn't he just get into the pool and swim, after all it is 90 degrees outside with high humidity??? He's not allowed...his first case of swimmer's ear. He woke up through the night after our July 4th party crying and taking my hand and putting it to his ear. After days of pain re-leaver and ear drops, the pain is gone and his ear is finally clean. However, I'm still trying to keep him out of the pool until at least Saturday. Not an easy task when the pool is right there in front of his face!! Thank goodness for the water hose today. It easily distracted him from swimming.
To make matters worse for the poor guy, he went to the dentist Monday morning and both of his 12 year old molars are coming through on the bottom. Yes, 3 years early. Why is this the one thing that he is ahead of the curve?? Teeth and ear pain have been granting him as little sleep as he can get for the past month and boy has Mommy been tired. I'm not too fond of 2 am wake up times for the day. Thankfully, he is on the upswing and for the past two nights we have both slept for over 8 hours. Yay us!! I feel like a human being again!!
On a good dentist note....he had his best dental appointment ever!! He sat in the chair all by himself while I verbally prompted him from my seat and the dentist was the only one touching him. Our previous appointments consisted of me sitting in the chair with Bobby on my lap while I had my arms and legs wrapped around him with the hygienist holding his hands down while the dentist tried to look in his mouth. According to his dentist, "This appointment could not have gone any better!!" No buildup, no cavities, and more importantly, no one holding him down...great job Bobby. Sorry that the molars are causing you pain 3 years early.
I think that this water play is making him happy!!!
I, however, got in trouble on the morning of the dentist appointment. Not by his dentist, but by his summer school teachers!! What did I do??? Well, I ruined Bobby's morning. I took him to the dentist and then straight to school, so Bobby did NOT get to ride the school bus and he didn't take this very well. In fact, he cried big tears at school and repeated "school bus" all morning long. When I got there to pick him up, his teachers all cried out to me, "Never bring him to school again!!! Let Bobby ride the SCHOOL BUS!!!!" Then we all laughed. Oh, what a boy!
So happy that life is getting back to normal....we are getting some sleep and Bobby has gotten to ride the school bus every other day this week!!
