A Cold, Valentiny Sunday At Home

First thing this morning, Bobby took his iPad into the trampoline and worked on his favorite app (First Words-spelling with phonics).
I decided to make a "Valentine" breakfast today, since big Sunday breakfasts are one of Bob's favorite things.  Bobby happily helped me make pancakes.  He loves, loves, loves dumping liquids from cup to cup, cup to sink, bowl to sink, cup to bowl, etc......So dumping the pancake ingredients into the bowl for Mommy is so much fun.  Plus, no one yells because he is dumping something (because it is usually bad news!!)
First you add an egg.
Make sure that you get it ALL!!
Next, the oil.
And of course, get every last drop!!!  Next, smell the milk to make sure that it is OK...
If it is OK, then add to the bowl...
I even made the pancakes heart shaped.  Awwww.  Sorry no picture.  Booooo.

After breakfast, Bobby decided that he wanted to go outside.  He got his hat and Daddy's snow pants.  Trying to get himself dressed so that we would take him out to play in the "nope,"  a.k.a. snow.
Daddy finally felt bad enough to take Bobby out, even with single digit wind chill temperatures.  They both layered up and went out to ride in the Rhino.  Bobby came in red cheeked and happy.
All weekend Bobby has been saying, "Blow the candles out" and then he blows.  He has said this hundreds of times.  Daddy wanted us to have a cake so that Bobby could actually blow out some cake candles.  Bobby came right on over and helped pour all of the ingredients into the bowl.
First the cake mix, then the water...
Add the oil, then the eggs.

I can't take credit for this cake idea.  I got it from Pinterest.
I wasn't planning on making this cake until Tuesday.  I already purchased all of the ingredients, but didn't get candles.  I found a couple, but not really tall enough for this cake.  We made due and Bobby didn't care.  He was just happy that he got to blow out candles.

We have done well with our will power so far this evening and the cake has remained uncut.  If it is still intact in the morning, I am sending it to work with Bob.  This cake has way too much chocolate for two people, it needs to be served to a crowd!!

The Bob's Snow Removal Team

We finally woke up to a little bit of snow this morning and as the morning progressed another inch or so fell.  Finally, we have about 2 inches of snow.  The boys got to go out and plow the hill in the new Rhino.  Big difference in snow plowing equipment from last year!!  The Rhino now has a Bob-made windshield and back window and purchased doors.  They get to ride in semi-warm comfort unlike the 4 wheeler snow plow of the past.
Reminder of last years snow removal equipment...

After clearing the road, Bobby had to go play in the snow...
He went and played in the woods until Daddy came and got him on the Rhino.  Yeah, more snow removal!!!
Bobby wasn't too excited to come back into the house.  He would have stayed outside all day if we would have let him!!  But we had some work to do since Valentine's Day is this week...

Waiting for the Snow to Arrive

It is finally Friday!  The snow is supposed to be coming.  We have been waiting all winter, with only a couple of inches total so far.
The cold temps always bring the deer to the bird feeders...
Did you know that Bobby was a harmonica prodigy (not really!!)...
"Cheese"
Having breakfast before school one day this week in the dining room.  Notice that he took the baskets off of the shelf and lined them up before he ate his toast...
Bobby had Tiny Tykes Tumbling again today, and of course, I took pictures...
Trying to figure out how to get up on the vault.
Andrew jumped off of the vault.
And so did Jacob...
But Bobby would NOT jump.  So I did what all crazy moms would do, I pushed...
and he landed in the pits!!  So hard to get out...

Checking out his helper...
Perched atop the vault...

Family Tragedy

The first posting of Bobby's World was about our annual Anderson Family Reunion.  I also posted one of my favorite pics of all time, cousins Bobby and Brant at the reunion.  Brant is trying to get Bobby to play with him, but having no success, so he just got down beside Bobby and tried to play the way that Bobby was playing.  It makes me think of growing up with cousins and that you have a family bond even if you don't see each other that often.  When you get together at reunions, weddings, funerals or any other occassion, you are able to pick up where you left off and always have a commonality.
Friday night, Brant's Great Grandpa and Great Grandma were both killed in a house fire.  To make matters even worse, Brant's Grandpa and Grandma's home also burned in the fire, since they lived close.  Thankfully someone entered the home and got Grandpa David out of bed and he escaped the blaze.

I don't even have the words...

Mimi (my mom's sister), Grandma Carolyn (my Mom), and Aunt Gladys (their mom's sister and Brant's Great Grandma) at one of our family reunions.

Uncle Lynn (Brant's Great Grandpa).

The only up side to a tragedy of this nature is that it happened in the small town of Mannington where the have lived for years and where they raised their 6 children.  The community of Mannington has already rallied around the Harvey family to help with the clean up process.

I have written and deleted this posting multiple times and have struggled with it unlike any other posting.  I do ask that you keep the Harvey family in your prayers.

Rest in peace Uncle Lynn and Aunt Gladys.

Tiny Tykes Tumbling 2012

The best thing about February....Tiny Tykes Tumbling at the WV Gymnastics Training Center with Bobby's friends from Stepping Stones.  Stepping Stones provides recreational activities to persons with disabilities.  If you don't believe that there is a rise in the number of children with autism, I would love to invite you to one of our Tiny Tykes activities where unfortuantely the number of children with autism in the activities is at least 90%.  Most of these kids are also in our autism support group.  Tiny Tykes activities are a win-win for everyone.  The kids get to go into the gymnastics center and jump, jump, bounce, bounce their little hearts out, WV students get volunteer opportunities and the parents...well, we get to sit behind a window, watch and visit with each other.  Many of us met 3 years ago (is that possible!!) and have trudged through the murkey waters of autism together.  Which by the way, is much easier than going it alone!!  One of todays topics... Hair Cutting and why it sounds like CPS should be called while the kids are getting the cuts!!

I did take a break from the parents and go into the gym to take pictures.  It is so difficult to get nice pictures in there...too dark and kids moving way too fast.

Bobby went to his favorite location and got his new helper to do all of the work while he sat in the middle of the trampoline and was bounced around like popcorn.
(The other boy was fine!!)

Only 2 kids are allowed to jump on this particular trampoline at one time and Bobby had been parked right there for about 20 minutes.  I made him get up (his helper tried God love her-she was way too meak), and go to another area so that other kids could take their turn here.  I went back to the parent area and Bobby went off with his helper.  After a pit stop at the water fountain and a couple of laps around the gym, Bobby walked his helper over to a foam pit area.  I watched with amazement what Bobby did next!!  He acted like he was going to jump into the foam pit and got his helper to jump too.  She jumped, he did not!!  While she was in the pit, which is EXTREMELY hard to get out of,  Bobby ran across the gym and went right back to his spot of the trampoline while his helper struggled to get out of the pit and catch up with him.  OH WHAT A KID!!!
Sonny actually wanted his helper to jump into the pit with him.  Sonny would jump first and then he prompted his helper to jump in and then Sonny would "swim" through the foam to get to his helper.  Great, Great fun in Sonny's eyes!!
Wesley having fun in the pit too.

Bobby walked into the parent area with 15 minutes of gym time left and was ready to go.  He came over, sat down, put his shoes and coat on and walked to the car perfectly with Daddy by his side.  He seems to have come down with a cold.  I feel like this crazy haze of sickness has been hovering over our house for a couple of weeks and we are ready for it to move on!!  Bob and I both had a rough week and are finally feeling better and now a cold for Bobby.  Oh well,  blah, blah, blah!!!

After School Fun

Bobby got to leave school extra early today, YEAH BOBBY!!  We had to go to Valley Healthcare for a waiver meeting, BOO!!!  Since Mother Nature is totally confused about what season we are in and what the correct temperature should be, we again had to go out and play since it was in the 50s on February 1.  Not as nice as yesterday, but still weather that dictates Bobby go outside and play.  Daddy put the sides up on the trampoline yesterday so Bobby ran right down and got in as soon as I opened the garage door.
He got tired of his hat hitting him on the head while he jumped, so he put it on.
Showing that he is a true hillbilly!!
He kept poking his head out to say, "You jump."  Sorry Bobby, you are on your own today!!

He finally got out of the trampoline and sat down in the Rhino waiting for Daddy to come home and take him for a ride.  Poor kid would have had to wait for hours.
He got tired of waiting so he went in and got to business.  He got on the phone and facebook to plan playdates with his friends.  They planned a get together on Friday at the gymnastics center for tumbling.
  What a great day!!!
